Second Harvest Pantry
A Feeding America West Michigan program
Kentwood pantry opens Jan. 26
Welcome to Second Harvest Pantry, where we work to alleviate hunger in our community through reliable access to nutritious food.
At Second Harvest Pantry, our neighbors are invited to browse and select items that meet their household needs, much like a traditional shopping experience. Our inventory rotates regularly, offering a reliable variety of fresh, frozen, canned, and boxed food options.
No identification or documentation is necessary to access the pantry’s resources. Although we have no ID requirements, visitors will be asked a series of demographic questions related to the makeup of their household and their reason for receiving food. Please note, emergency need is a qualifying reason to receive food. Visitors must currently reside in Michigan to use our services.

- What questions will you ask me when I come to Second Harvest Pantry?

We will also ask about dietary restrictions. You can choose to share your name and address, but it is not required. - Do I need to make an appointment to visit?
No appointment is required for you to visit us. If we are open, you are welcome to stop by. Please verify our hours before visiting. - Does Second Harvest Pantry only have food?
Our primary resource is food, but we will have additional household items available as we receive them. We can also point you to other community resources as needed. - Do I need to bring something to carry my groceries in?
If you have grocery bags, that would be helpful. However, we will have bags on a limited basis. - My children will be with me when I visit. Is there a children’s area?
We have a small waiting room where kids are welcome to play while you select food. However, we are unable to supervise your children. - I have physical limitations that make carrying items difficult. Will there be assistance for me?
Yes. We will help you select and carry the items you need. - I do not have transportation to get to the Second Harvest Pantry. Is delivery to me an option?
