Give

Box of fruits and veggies like strawberries, carrots and tomatoes

A virtual food drive helps the food bank provide more nourishing food than most people could collect on their own. We collect financial donations that we can use to buy the food we need most, including perishable items like fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy. We’re able to turn every dollar donated into 9 meals’ worth of food!

Donate Stock

One of the biggest tax advantages in charitable giving continues to be the double benefit donors get when donating appreciated assets to Feeding America West Michigan instead of cash. By giving appreciated assets (like stocks held for more than one year), you’ll get a charitable tax deduction for the full value of the asset and avoid any capital gains tax that would have applied if you had sold the stock and made your gift in cash.

Please provide the following information in your request when directing your broker to transfer your shares to Feeding America West Michigan:

Donor Advised Funds

Donate over a period of time and access immediate tax deductions with a Donor Advised Fund (DAF).

A DAF is a personal charitable vehicle that donors can establish at a public charity such as a community foundation or financial institution. A DAF allows donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate income tax deduction, and recommend grants from the fund over time to qualified nonprofits, such as Feeding America West Michigan.
