Kentwood Warehouse

In 2021, we purchased the Shaffer facility, and we launched our Nourish Tomorrow Advancement Campaign in May of 2022. After years of hard work in collaboration with incredible partners, like Fishbeck and Christman, we successfully developed and executed the plans for our extensive renovation.

This 120,600-square-foot facility represents a significant expansion in our capacity to serve those facing food insecurity across 40 of Michigan’s 83 counties. The $19.6 million project will dramatically increase our ability to distribute food to those in need and expand our current programming. The $6.6 million facility purchase and $13 million renovations were made possible thanks to thousands of community donations, a generous contribution from Meijer, and the Kent County Board of Commissioners. The project is wholly funded, and the food bank is debt-free!
