Hunger Action Month

Food shouldn’t be an impossible choice.

For thousands of people in West Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, a daily meal isn’t a choice between different dishes. It’s a choice between food and other crucial needs — like medicine, electricity or childcare. This September, choose to take action.

Here’s how you can help.

LEARN. Find out more about the impossible choices of hunger in our community. Our blog is a great place to learn.

COMMIT. Take action to make food a certainty, not a choice. Commit by becoming a monthly or one-time donor, or by volunteering.

SPEAK UP. Choose to use your voice to create change and help address the hunger issue. Speak up by sharing a blog post, social media post (find the food bank @FeedingWestMich) or share your own story of a volunteer experience or a time you faced hunger. You can also add the Hunger Action Month frame to your Facebook profile photo. Consider wearing orange on Hunger Action Day (Sept. 17) to help start a conversation about hunger.
