As it is the season of giving, we wanted to organize a HUB Gives opportunity that could be taken advantage of despite our workforce being virtual. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, unemployment has soared and food insecurity is heightened.
In 2020, more than 411,530 (1 in 6) people in West Michigan and the Upper Peninsula are projected to face hunger compared to 290,390 (1 in 8) before the pandemic. To be able to impact every community we serve from afar, MWE will be teaming up with Feeding America West Michigan to help close the meal gap through online donations. The food bank is able to provide 4 meals to someone facing hunger for just $1! In addition to the money we raise as a team, MWE will be matching donations dollar for dollar up to $2,500! This means with our teamwork we can provide over 20,000 meals this holiday season!
