COMSTOCK PARK, Mich., October 27, 2023 — Feeding America West Michigan received $30,000 in funding from Amway to support Mobile Food Pantries in Kent County. This grant provided 450,000 meals’ worth of food to neighbors in need.
In Kent County, more than 1 in 11 people is experiencing food insecurity, meaning they lack consistent access to enough food to live an active, healthy life. Mobile Food Pantries work to combat this by bringing fresh groceries directly into communities with a high need for support.
“This support from Amway for our neighbors in need in Kent County is so important for our work to end hunger,” said Kenneth Estelle, President and CEO of Feeding America West Michigan. “We are constantly working to increase access for everyone to get the nutritious food they need to thrive, and our Mobile Food Pantries are a huge part of that. These funds helped change lives through meals, and we are so grateful for Amway’s consistent support for 16 years now!”
