In some northern Michigan counties, one in five people worries about getting enough to eat. In the U.P. and the northwest Lower Peninsula combined, over 32,000 children struggle with hunger.
Fortunately, Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank is working to ensure that food is available to those who need it in northern Michigan. With our branches in Cadillac, Sault Ste. Marie, and Ishpeming, and our partners at The Manna Food Project in Petoskey and Western U.P. Food Bank in Houghton, we distribute 5.9 million pounds of food in this region each year. That good food supports 361 food pantries, domestic violence shelters, and other hunger relief agencies in northern Michigan.
But there’s more to do, and we need your help to do it. Every single dollar you give makes it possible for us to send 4 meals to people in need.
