How We’re Doubling Number of Meals Served in the UP This February
This February, Feeding America West Michigan is providing more than twice as much food to people in the Upper Peninsula as we did last February. It’s the result of our transition to a new, more nimble strategy for serving the UP, based on bringing food directly to agencies and clients.
Meet Maggie, Our New Volunteer Coordinator
Her name is Maggie Marcinkus, she’s 24 years old and she’s in charge of the 3,000-plus volunteers who will sort, ship, pick and pack 6 million pounds of food this year. Her mission: to make sure good food is available to everybody in our community.
Jam with the Food Bank at The Intersection, Feb. 19
On Feb. 19, we’re celebrating the best of the West Michigan music scene at the WYCE Jammies, a six-hour showcase of local artists spanning genres from bluegrass to hip-hop. How are we celebrating? By doing what we do best: collecting food and funds for our neighbors in need.
