First United Methodist Church Marquette wants to invite you to a food fight! But this food fight doesn’t involve throwing mashed potatoes. Instead, First UMC is challenging you to compete in their annual food drive and fundraiser for Feeding America West Michigan. Different groups within the church, including the choir, youth group, and Sunday school classes will be challenging each other to raise the most for local hunger relief, and they want you to take part.
Drop off your contribution of food or funds in person. First UMC is located at 111 East Ridge Street in Marquette. If you have questions, contact Ginny Davis at scullersview[at]gmail.com.
This May, fighting hunger is as easy as leaving a bag of food on your porch. The 24th-annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is taking place on Saturday, May 14. To get involved, simply fill a bag of nonperishable food and set it out by your mailbox in time for your normal Saturday delivery. This year, you can also give a meal online.
