COMSTOCK PARK, Mich., Nov. 14, 2023 — Feeding America West Michigan invites neighbors in need to attend a holiday food distribution at their Comstock Park warehouse, located at 864 W River Center Dr. NE, on Tuesday, Nov. 21 between 1 and 3 p.m. All participants must register online at FeedWM.org/register. Only one registration per household will be accepted.
That afternoon, food bank staff will distribute many food items needed to supplement a standard Thanksgiving dinner, including a turkey, to registered families.
The first 325 households registered for the distribution are guaranteed to receive food. Registered neighbors should arrive no more than 10 minutes early for their scheduled pick up time. More details can be found online. The food bank asks everyone registered to bring their own carrying container, such as a laundry basket, to help transfer the food from the distribution to their car, if possible. Food bank staff will offer assistance if needed.
This unique holiday food distribution held at the food bank’s main warehouse is more than just an opportunity for neighbors facing hunger to receive extra support during the holidays; it’s also a chance for food bank staff and community members to interact, and for neighbors who receive food assistance from the food bank’s partner food pantries and meal programs to see where much of the food those agencies provide comes from.
