COMSTOCK PARK, Mich., February 27, 2023 — Feeding America West Michigan received a grant of $102,000 from Cargill in support of its Mobile Food Pantry program and its Nourish Tomorrow advancement campaign.
$42,000 of the grant will go towards the Ionia County Mobile Food Pantry program and $60,000 of the funding will support the Nourish Tomorrow campaign.
Ionia County Mobile Food Pantries are run by numerous host sites in the area, including churches, schools and community centers. Many local community members volunteer their time to make each food distribution possible.
The food bank’s advancement campaign, Nourish Tomorrow, will renovate and equip the nonprofit’s new headquarters, improve programming, expand food rescue and strengthen partnerships. For more information about the food bank’s Nourish Tomorrow campaign, visit FeedWM.org/NourishTomorrow.
“This grant is so important to the food bank and we are so grateful for Cargill’s support,” said Kenneth Estelle, president and CEO of Feeding America West Michigan. “With these grant funds, we are able to advance our Nourish Tomorrow campaign, as well as provide food for many neighbors in Ionia County through the Mobile Food Pantry program.”
